The final map highlighted regions in BC which are feasible as low budget exploration targets based on the conceptual model of this project. The colour ramp used was weighted towards higher values so that higher scoring regions were more discernable on the map.
Upon evaluation of the final map, it becomes apparent there are significant districts which would make ample mineral exploration targets, including mixed regions throughout South-Central British Columbia and the West side of Vancouver Island. In North-West British Columbia, an area which is notoriously mineral rich, we do not observe as being feasible for this analysis which is likely due to the limited paved roads and logging roads absent.
Below: Three 1:500,000 scale maps of were created exemplify the resoluton of the main map and characterize some select districts which had high concentrations of feasible exploration targets. The role that logging roads (and paved roads) played in this analysis is apparent at this scale.
Future analyses may consider utilizing:
-
Proximity to additional infastructure:
-
Transmission Lines
-
Towns/ Cities,
-
Other modes of transportation; Ports, Railways, etc.
-
Existing mines
